Staying in Bruntsfield during the festivals

Family-friendly, independent shops, a 20-minute walk to most venues.

01

The honest version

Bruntsfield

Bruntsfield sits south-west of the centre, separated from Marchmont by Bruntsfield Links (a small green space, not a real park). The streets are wider than Marchmont, the shops more upmarket, and the demographic skews to professionals and young families rather than students. Twenty-to-twenty-five minutes' walk to Pleasance and the University-side venues. Less Fringe energy than anywhere closer in — for some people that's the appeal.
